Bill & Ted’s Most Triumphant Return #1

Excellent!

I’ll spoil this review right now and say that I just can not say enough nice things about Bill & Ted’s Triumphant Return. This is the sequel I’ve been waiting years for, and not only does it deliver on every level, but it totally sneaked up on me. A surprise this nice is welcome indeed!

UFOlogy #1

UFOlogy #1

I was doomed to like this comic when I read the title. Ever since I was a kid, dinosaurs and UFOs got me all kinds of excited. This story has it all – starry-eyed believers, cynics, and aliens – and an atmosphere and mystery and wonder to make it all shine.

The Witcher – Fox Children #1

Fox Children #1

This book jumps into action and feels exciting from the first scene to the last. From awaking in the middle of the night to facing unknown river dangers, the tension doesn’t let up, and the sense of adventure doesn’t fade, even when trolls are just trying to be friendly.

Southern Cross #1

Southern Cross #1

There’s a lot to like about this comic right off the bat. The art is top-notch, the protagonist is interesting and relate-able, and the world unfolds around you as you delve deeper. It’s off to a great start, and I’m pretty excited about where it might go.

Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard – Vol. 3 #1

Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard – Vol. 3 #1

You’re pretty likely to know what to expect from Mouse Guard by now. They’re beautifully drawn comics about the trials and tribulations of a society of field mice, complete with awesome costumes and medieval weapons. Keeping it pretty kid-friendly, there’s never anything too violent or dark, but the stories are fun and the art is a pleasure to behold.
