KOMA

KOMA

The story of KOMA changes so often that it would be hard to summarize without giving away half the fun, but at its simplest, this is the story of weird girl figuring out her place in the world, how she effects those around her as she does. It’s very different from what I’m used to reading, but in the best possible way. KOMA is fun to read, sweet and scary at the same time, and left me with a feeling that it should be shared with all my friends and any one else I met for a few days.

Graveyard Shift #2

Graveyard Shift #2

They’re Not Like Us may have let me down with its second issue, but Graveyard Shift more than makes up for it. I said in my review of the first issue that I liked the action, but wanted more story, and it’s like they listened to everything I said. A healthy little dose of action at the bookends, and a lot of story in between. The pace is a tad slow, and a character does something he’s way too smart to do just to push the story along, but I loved everything else!

Rat Queens Special: Braga #1

Rat Queens Special: Braga #1

I kind of like this kind of special issue. Once upon a time a story like this would have either disrupted the story of the monthly book or just not been told. Some may see this as another way for the company to get a few bucks out of you, but I like the option. Want to know more about your favorite character? Spend the $3.50. Just want the regular story? Skip it and you don’t have to spend a single panel on it.

Eternal Warrior: Days of Steel #1

Eternal Warrior: Days of Steel #1

The story of an immortal warrior serving a greater power by fighting in all of mankind’s greatest battles. This has been done a hundred times before, and it’ll be done again soon. Eternal Warrior isn’t a bad take on it, but it doesn’t impress either.

Veil (Hard Cover)

Veil (Hard Cover)

Veil does not start off well. A woman wakes up alone in the subway, naked and clueless. She finds her way to the busy streets above, gibbering nonsensical rhymes, and as you might expect from a bewildered, naked woman, quickly finds a whole mess of trouble. What follows is the story of one good man in a world of lust, greed, and wrath.
